Old Ireland in Colour Exhibit at Fordham Hall Kylemore Abbey is a wonderful collection of colourised historical black and white photographs from the 19th and 20th century. It isĀ  based on the best-selling books series of the same name by John Breslin and Sarah Anne-Buckley.Ā  From gathering stones on the Aran Islands in 1940 to Samuel Beckett in 196o’s France, and including a previously unseen image of Pollacappul lake in front of Kylemore castle with the peak of the neo-Gothic Church stretching above the leaves –
Included in your visit to Kylemore Abbey, make sure to stop by Fordham Hall to see this beautiful exhibition which illustrates life in 19th and early 20th century Ireland.Ā  The exhibtion runs from March 7th until September 30th.
Old Ireland in Colour is on display at Kylemore Abbey with thanks to Professor John Breslin, Dr. Sarah-Anne Buckley, University of Galway, Catherine Gagneux, Honorary Consul of France in Connacht and Donegal, and the RTƉ Archives.
