There are 3 races as part of the event which takes place on the 4th of May 2024 – 5k, 10k and 12k races. The longest of these races enjoyed a run along Ceann Gainimh, the island’s coastal beach stretch. Each year the race prides itself on the amazing scenery it has to offer. The Original Aran Island Road Race raises money for the island’s Irish language boarding school, Coláiste Naomh Eoin. Students from all over Ireland attend the secondary school on Inis Meáin.

As a reward, the runners enjoy the infamous Inis Meáin BBQ, with live music after the event.
