The stunning gardens of Kylemore Abbey are a must-see anytime of the year, but especially in the fall. Conservation works take place on the grounds of the Abbey year round and the beautiful gardens and their autumn foliage are tended to every day.

The Connemara ponies are a must-see when in the area! Visitors are guaranteed to see them year-round as these are no ordinary horse! Bred for the wild, ruffed landscapes of the west, the Connemara climate in autumn is perfect for them.

Not to be overshadowed by our famous ponies, are the blackface mountain sheep of Connemara! Beautiful year-round, but particularly handsome in the later months of the year when their coats are the fluffiest and their horns are good and round!

Did you know autumn in Ireland is the ideal time to spot red deer? Rutting season begins in late September and the antlers are easily spotted poking through the thicket in the National Park!
