This beach is located approximately 8 mile from Galway. It is a sandy beach with clear water.
The beach has no lifeguards or toilets. Parking is limited.
Directions
Drive west from Galway city on the R336 for approximately 8 miles. Shortly after the church the strand and carpark are on the righthand side.
If you want to travel by public transport take the 424 Bus Éireann service from Galway City towards An Cheathrú Rua (Carraroe)

The Blake Mausoleum in Furbo is located beside the church. This was the burial place of the Blake Family of Furbo who were notorious landlords in the area.
