Connemara Fox Picnic Area at Shinnanagh

The Connemara Fox keeping an eye on the surrounding area the view point and Picnic Area at Shinnanagh just outside Clifden.  There is a great view toward the mountains over the bogs from this picnic site located on the N59 between Clifden and Letterfrack.  Great spot to take in the views at this picnic area at but there’s a mystery attached to it as well.

There’s an interesting story in the duchas.ie collection about a man returning home one night who ended up disappearing into a cliff near Shinnanagh and ended up at a fairy wedding.
A far fetched excuse to explain coming home late or is there some truth in it!
