Explore Cashel

Cashel is a small Gaeltacht village on the east side of Achill Island in County Mayo. It lies along the western seaboard of Connemara at the head of beautiful Bertraghboy Bay. To the north, Cashel Hill rises over 1000 feet with its breath-taking views of the jagged coastline – saffron coloured by seaweed covered rocks and featuring many picturesque stone built harbours and slipways. This area is secluded but not isolated, with spectacular views from Cashel Hill, overlooking a sheltered bay of the Atlantic Ocean. It is also an ideal setting for inspired creative work and many artists visit to get inspiration from the raw and natural beauty in the surrounding area.
