What is Forest Bathing?
Forest Bathing is a multi-sensory, nature mindfulness experience. It is based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku.Ā The guide will give you a series of meditative āinvitationsā to help you slow down.Ā Take the time to focus on your senses and notice nature around you so that you will be aware of your surroundings. from the unfurling of a young fern and the crunching of leaves underfoot to the distant call of the cuckoo or the smell of damp moss. Each person notices something different. During the event there will be times for sharing experiences or even staying quiet!
Align with the seasons and connect with the life-force of nature we are open to receive gifts of well-being and wisdom. Forest Bathing has been scientifically proven to have positive effects on the nervous system, boost the immune system and reduce stress.
The walk takes place in the meadows and woodlands at Brigitās Garden and lasts for two and a half hours. Finally we will gather for a Tea Ceremony, based on the Japanese tradition that promotes harmony and tranquillity. Foraged leaves, herbs and berries are infused to create a hot, fresh-brewed seasonal drink which we will share togetherā¦with some treats too!
