Born and raised in São Paulo, Plínio blends the tradition of classical guitar with the rich, rhythmic vibrancy of Brazilian folk music. Plínio Fernandes is known for his mesmerising performances and versatility. His playing ranges from the delicate works of Bach to the exuberance of Brazilian melodies. He delivers each with heart and expressive brilliance.

An exclusive Decca Gold recording artist, Plínio’s debut album Saudade topped the Billboard Traditional Classical Albums Char.  He  collaborates with highly acclaimed artists such as Lang Lang and Sheku Kanneh-Mason. He has performed in concert halls around the world, including renowned venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall and Radio City Music Hall in New York.  Plínio Fernandes made his BBC Proms debut in 2024.
