Midsummer Day at Brigit’s Garden
Enjoy a midsummer day of free biodiversity walks around Brigit’s Garden with expert guides.

A great opportunity to learn more about our local wildlife – from butterflies and wildflowers to trees and herbs – to enjoy time in nature, and pick up tips about how to support biodiversity in your own garden or land. There will also be a relaxing forest bathing (nature mindfulness) session.
Come for one walk or make a day of it! The Garden Café will be open for lunch as well as coffee, tea and treats.
The walks are for adults, apart from the family afternoon. There is no charge, but online registration is required.
Morning 11am-12.30pm
Forest Bathing – Nature Mindfulness walk Forest bathing is becoming popular as a way of spending time in nature that is relaxing and de-stressing. Enjoy slowing down and opening your senses to the sounds, scents and colours of the meadows and woodlands on this gentle guided walk.
All about Ponds Introducing a pond and water into your garden or land is a great way to support insects, birds and other wildlife. Discover the rich biodiversity in and around the ponds at Brigit’s Garden and how to make your own pond, big or small.
Our native trees, with their folklore & mythology Meet some of our most important and beautiful native trees, hear about their rich folklore and the Ogham tree alphabet.
Afternoon 2-3.30pm
Wonderful Wildflowers Wildflowers are great for biodiversity. Learn how to identify some of beautiful native wild plants and how to grow them successfully in your own garden or community space.
Beautiful Butterflies Learn about some of our beautiful local butterflies and how to identify them, and about the best plants to grow to attract butterflies into your garden.
Family nature crafts and games Enjoy an afternoon in the woods of fun, nature-based activities, games and eco-crafts. For children aged 4+ with their parent(s).

The walks are for adults, apart from the family afternoon.
There is no charge, but online registration is required. Donations to Brigit’s Garden (registered charity) are welcome, click here.
