Kylemore Abbey Welcomes the Festive Season with The First Light of Christmas

Kylemore Abbey invites visitors to begin their festive season with The First Light of Christmas on Sunday, November 30th. Set within the tranquillity of the historic Victorian estate in Connemara, the event offers a peaceful and memorable start to Christmas.

4:30 PM – Mayo Male Voice Choir Performance
Taking place in Ostyn Hall at the Monastery, Education & Retreat Centre.

5:30–5:45 PM – Lighting of the Kylemore Abbey Christmas Tree
Join at the bridge for this special annual moment.

Festive Shopping and Seasonal Treats
Guests can arrive early to the estate and browse the Kylemore Craft & Design Shop—open until 6:00 PM—for unique gifts, while enjoying handmade festive treats, mulled wine, and seasonal drinks.

Christmas Inspired Sunday Carvery (12:00–4:30 PM)
The Kylemore Kitchen & Café will serve a wholesome Christmas inspired Sunday Carvery.

Kylemore-Made Christmas Flavours and Gifts
Shoppers can also discover other Kylemore-made Christmas flavours including puddings, brandy butter, mulled wine mix, handmade chocolates, and pick up gifts such as soaps crafted by the Benedictine community, alongside a curated selection of Irish and international gifts.

Seating for the choir performance is limited and can be secured via Eventbrite.
