The Festival of the Sea – Féile na Mara
The Festival of the Sea is run by the Festival of the Sea Claddaghduff/Cleggan Comunity Council. I takes place each year around the August Bank Holiday week. It features a wide range of events.Expect the best of last years festival with a return of JP Mc Mahon and a rumour that he’ll be cooking something very tasty , the best table quiz in Ireland, kayaking, walking, golfing, art exhibition, and kids events such as crafts, sports day, badminton and shore walking.

Join us for eleven days of family fun, outdoor adventure, local heritage, music, sport and community events in Claddaghduff and Cleggan. There’s something for all ages, from kayaking and guided walks to craft fairs, regattas, quizzes and live entertainment.
Friday 31 July
Kayaking on Omey Strand
Time: Meet at Omey Car Park, 4:00pm
Cost: €5 per person
Enjoy an evening kayaking on Omey Strand. All equipment is provided. Suitable for ages 12+ (children must be supervised by a parent or guardian).

Grand Opening & Seafood Cooking Demonstration
Venue: Claddaghduff Community Hall
Time: 7:00pm
Cost: €15 per person
Official opening of the festival featuring a seafood cooking demonstration by renowned chef JP McMahon, held in memory of Sean Ward of Dooncastle Oysters. The evening also includes an exhibition and sale of artwork by local artists.
