Oughterard parkrun – Free Weekly 5K in Corribdale Park

 

Oughterard parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5K community event open to everyone. Whether you want to walk, jog, run, volunteer, or simply cheer others on, it’s entirely up to you.

The event takes place every Saturday at 9:30am in Corribdale Park.

Corribdale Park is a  community leisure facility catering to all ages. It features a Kids’ Playground, Teen Zone, Walking and Running Trail, Sensory Garden, Wooded Area, and Open Green Space, making it perfect for families, walkers, and runners alike.

The park is conveniently located next to the village shops and restaurants, and adjacent to the car park.

Participation in parkrun is completely free! All first-time visitors should register online

Course Description: The course consists of three laps run anti-clockwise. Each lap has an inner loop followed by an outer loop, providing a scenic and varied route for all participants.

Location of start: The run starts in Corribdale Park.

Getting there by public transport: Citylink from Galway Coach Park to Hession’s Pub, Oughterard  Bus Éireann No. 419 or from Clifden via City Link or Bus Eireann.

Getting there on foot: Turn left off the bus towards the village. Continue through the village until reaching the Oughterard Health Centre. Corribdale Park is on the left – about a 5-minute walk.

Getting there by road: From Galway, follow the N59 north for approximately 24 km. Upon entering Oughterard, parking is available on the right beside the Health Centre. From Clifden, travel over the bridge and through the village with parking  opposite the filling station as you leave the village.

Post Run Coffee: Every week participants gather for a post-parkrun coffee at Power’s Thatch, Oughterard.
