Eoin Ó Tuairisg is an experienced and qualified local guide in the Connemara Gaeltacht. As a native of Inverin, a vibrant seaside village rich in tradition with great natural beauty, he has lived in the area his whole life. Irish or Gaelic is his first language, a language which is deeply rooted not only in the flora and fauna of the locality but in the traditions and heritage of the local people. Eoin, therefore, has an extensive knowledge of the wildlife and plant life of Connemara. He is very proud of his heritage and he is keen to show the visitor what remains of the old life such as the granite stone walls, built by hand by local landowners and the old field and sea system, that fed the people of the area through hard times in the past. There are several options available for visitors who want to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the landscape and heritage of Connemara.
