Lúibín Inis Ní/Inishnee Loop
The Inishnee Loop is a 6km route starting at the bridge onto Inish Ní island and treats walkers to acoastal walk with stunning Connemara scenery from all sides.
Inis Ní is one of the most northerly outposts of the south Connemara Gaeltacht, with the Loop bringing hikers deep into the island, passing views Rocknock, Portadoody Harbor and Little Erris Hill.
The trail runs down the west side of the island, looking over the water to sandy Gorteen Bay, Errisbeg Hill and the village of Roundstone. St Mathias’s graveyard Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in Connemara, lies to the east of the island and is still occupied by an old church dating from the 12th century.
Tosaíonn Lúb Inis Ní, atá 6km ar fhad, ag an droichead isteach ar an oileán agus timpeallacht álainn ar gach taobh díot.
Tá Inis Ní ar an imeall is faide ó thuaidh de Ghaeltacht dheisceart Chonamara agus siúlóidí ann a thugann an cuairteoir go croílár an oileáin agus Cnoc Iorrais Bhig ar cheann de na háiteanna a dtéann tú thairis. Leanann an tsiúlóid síos ar an taobh thiar den oileán go dtí trá gainmheach Phort na Feadóige, Cnoc Iorrais Bhig agus sráidbhaile Chloch na Rón.
Tá reilig Naomh Mairéad, an ceann is sine i gConamara, ar an taobh thoir den oileán, agus tá seanséipéal ón dara haois déag fós ansin.
