Connemara Smokehouse
For a true taste of Connemara make your way to Connnemara Smokehouse CafeĀ & Shop in Ballyconneelly on the Wild AtlanticWay.
Idyllically perched on the waterās edge, in the shadow of the castle of the famous pirate queen, Granuaile
(Grace OāMalley), Connemaraās oldest Smokehouse sits quietly on Bunowen pier overlooked by the majestic peaks of the Twelve Bens. With an abundance of fresh fish available locally, Grahamās parents John and Bridget set up ConnemaraĀ Smokehouse in 1979. Adopting centuries old traditional methods of smoking fish, they lovingly crafted a series of world famous artisan seafood
products.
Graham Roberts now heads up this successful family business supported by his wife Saoirse and their four children. The Master Artisan Smoker Graham shares his passion for the preservation of this ancient tradition while proudly carrying on the art of preparing the freshest of fish to produce mouth watering, award winning seafood products.
As well as the Connemara Smokehouse Discovery Area & Factory Shop, they have now added a fabulous, seasonal seaside Cafe & Artisan shop with stunning sea views. A great place to come, relax and enjoy a great coffee and the ancient Irish flavours of traditionally smoked
seafood in Connemara.
