What is Forest Bathing

Brigit's Garden Forest Bathing
Brigit’s Garden Forest Bathing

Forest Bathing isĀ  a multi-sensory, nature mindfulness experience. based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku

Forest Bathing has been scientifically proven to have positive effects on the nervous system, boost the immune system and reduce stress.

Walk through the meadows and woodlands at Brigitā€™s Garden for two and a half hours. Enjoy the atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reflect on your journey.

Enjoy a Tea Ceremony which is based on the Japanese tradition that promotes harmony and tranquillity. Foraged leaves, herbs and berries are infused to create a hot, fresh-brewed seasonal drink which we will share together.

What to bring to Forest Bathing eventĀ  at Brigit’s Garden.

  • Bring one more layer than you expect to need as when walking slowly our bodies donā€™t warm up like they do on an energetic hike.
  • Waterproof jacket, trousers and boots. The ground may be wet in the morning and we may find ourselves sitting on the forest floor or against a tree.

Please donā€™t bring extra bags and that you will have to carry around.

It is best to be hands free and light. Your guide will have emergency water, first aid, mobile phone etc.

Please note ā€“ we will continue in light rain or showers but will cancel in the event of serious weather.
