The family of sculptor Edward Delaye donated The Shadow of the Boats Scuplture Trá an Dóilín to pobal An Cheathrú Rua
“Scáileann na mBád” an t-ainm atá ar an saothar dealbhadóireachta seo atá déanta as cruach. Tá sé ar an mór-shaothar deireannach a rinne an t-ealaíontóir le línn dó a bheith ina chónaí san gCeathrú Rua. Siad teaghlach Edward Delaney (1930-2009) a bhronn an saothar ealaíne seo i gcuimhne ar na blianta a chaith sé sa gceantar. Bíodh Páirc Dealbhóireacht aige ansin le taispeántais ‘Beyond the Pale’ . Tá cáil air mar gheall ar dealbh Wolfe Tone , dealbh Tomás Dáibhis agus a Leacht Chuimhneacháin don Ghorta Mór.
Scáileanna na mBád (Shadows of the Boats)
The scuplture at Trá an Dóilín by sculptor Edward Delaney (1930-2009) is one of the last piece he created. The Delaney Family donated it to the community in honour the time he spent in the locality. Delaney had an open air exhibtion called ‘Beyond the Pale’ in An Cheathrú Rua in the 1990’s. His best-known works include the 1967 statue of Wolfe Tone, famine memorial at St Stephen’s Green in Dublin and the statue of Thomas Davis in College Green.
